Adding RSS Feeds
Why RSS Feeds
An RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed is a file that provides website updates in a standardised, computer-readable format. RSS feeds provide a simple way to showcase the latest notifications and summaries of content from a website and are a great school-friendly alternative to news feeds.
You can find some examples of RSS Feeds here: BBC Weather, NASA RSS Feeds
How to add RSS Feeds 📝
To add RSS Feeds, click the Add menu in TrilbyTV, select Web Content, then enter URL from RSS Feed
As this is a form of Web Content, you can optionally change the display duration, and auto-delete or auto-unapprove date/time, if required.
NOTE
An RSS Feed's URL will typically end in /rss.xml or feeds.xml. If the URL is missing some variation of this, you may have issues adding it to your TrilbyTV.
How to customise your RSS Feeds
You can customise your RSS Feed by clicking on the options above the feed. You'll be able to change the colour of the background, primary text and secondary text, as well as choosing whether your RSS feed features images. For a full step-by-step guide, you can look at the video below👇.
Once you're happy with your new RSS Feed, you will need to save and approve it, then add it to a category or playlist, before it appears on your screens.
