Power settings (MCUSetting) on Minix players

TrilbyTV relies on hardware being awake to play content, which can be tricky on some Android boxes. This guide explains how to configure the MCU power settings on Minix players to ensure they boot up automatically after power loss.

The Minix X39 is a widely used digital signage player. It is made to run constantly, is small enough to fit behind a screen, and has no fan for silent running. There are updated version of the minix available, the following instructions are specific to the X39, they may also work on newer models.

The device can also be set to auto power on in case of a power blip or failure.

Use the Remote control or a connected keyboard and mouse to open the Settings app on your Minix device.

Navigate to and click on MCUSetting

Then check the box labelled Enable auto start system when plug in

You can now return to TrilbyTV, or test that it is working by switching the power off and back on.
